We must first understand how our subconscious mind functions, it can't tell the difference from reality and non-reality. In this regard it's like a computer in that it only gives us out what we program in. 
 
Always remember this, our subconscious mind only processes and feeds us back our thoughts, in this way it's like a computer, negative in, negative thoughts out, positive in, positive thoughts out. It only processes the information that we feed it. 
 
So how do we train our mind to only attract what we want? 
 
It all starts with energy and we must understand that to create success in any activity we undertake, it all starts with the energy of a single simple thought. 
 
 So we ultimately create our success through the energy of our thoughts. 
 
Begin your day in prayer and meditation to focus on what you have to be grateful for. Even thank God out loud. The process of being thankful focuses your thoughts in an upbeat and the proper manner for beginning each day. I find it helpful to keep some reminder (usually some object) with me at all times to remind me to feel grateful if I ever get discouraged. 
 
Okay now before you ask you must specify exactly what your desire is. You've probably heard the Biblical expression, Ask and you shall receive! 
 
Many people totally misunderstand the nature of asking. 
 
Since many individuals don't understand asking, I think it is beneficial for your mindset toward success for the next couple paragraphs to explain wealth creation. 
 
Many people are under the wrong impression that there is only so much wealth to spread around and if they take more, than other people will go without. Stop thinking like this immediately. When people over the last few hundred years worked harder to produce more for themselves the natural byproduct was that everyone around them also had more. 
 
Many people without actually thinking about it just think of most wealthy people as being selfish. Before we ask for something we are either selfish or unselfish in our heart. Actually we can never only create wealth and riches for only ourselves. This process also creates more wealth for many others. 
 
If we're unselfish we help the poor more by having than by not. We can't give what we don't have. 
 
Many people and leaders in the world would like you to think they are being noble and unselfish. They'll make statements like the rich should pay more in taxes to provide more benefits for poor people. Although they never propose actually taxing wealth, but an increase in income taxes on the rich. Because income is actually a measure of production, what they are really proposing is this. If you produce a lot and thus help many others you will have to pay more, this discourages productivity. On the other hand someone who produces little is taxed less, for all intents and purposes those who espouse this philosophy are encouraging laziness. I'm not proposing it but it actually makes more sense to tax accumulated wealth than a tax on the production of wealth (income tax). However, don't look for an accumulated wealth tax anytime soon, as many of the people running things are already wealthy. 
 
There have always been those who want to control others, give their definition of selfishness. This can become a problem when these people get in power and have control of others lives. 
 
Unless you've been living in a cave all your life you're certainly aware that taxing people is how governments fund themselves. However, because most people in government have never had their own successful business. Until you've created wealth yourself you can easily misunderstand how it's created. Government in effect takes from one people through taxing them and gives to others. Basically this is a shell game where nothing new is created. However, you must realize that a tax on income is a tax on production. So I ask the question is more production good or bad in other words would you like more food or less food, more houses or less houses. Which of these scenarios benefits the most people? So why would you want to impose higher taxes on higher production? Why would you want to discourage more being produced when we've just shown how more production helps more people? 
 
Okay we're back from our slight diversion let's now focus on what asking means to success. 
 
What do you think of when you hear the word asking? When you were young you asked your parents for money or to borrow the car. Well what we are talking about here is much the same except we're not asking our parents. When we asked our parents for something we usually didn't get what we desired unless we were very specific. If we just said can I have some money we usually would get a response back, for what purpose and how much money, and if we couldn't give an exact amount or a specific reason we most likely wouldn't get the money. And if we asked for the car when we were 14 years old we weren't going to get it because we weren't ready, we weren't old enough. 
 
This is much like the energies of the world work when we ask, we must be specific and we must be prepared to receive. 
 
So the key to asking is being very specific and even writing it down on paper. Also top performance experts will coach you to visualize your desired result. So for example if your goal was a new home visualize the neighborhood, is the house brick or stucco, what color, how many bedrooms and bathrooms. Basically the more precise details you have the better. 
 
It is critical you understand this concept. When you were young and asked your parents for something you always got an answer. It may not have been the answer you were looking for but you got an answer. The same is true in our pursuit of success. If we have properly prepared to receive what our desire is we will receive it, otherwise it will be postponed until we are prepared. 
 
It seems the world will only let us receive what we asked for if we are prepared first. It would serve us no good to ask for winning an Olympic Gold winner in a sport we had never trained in. So a certain amount of training prepares us to receive what our goal is. It's not enough to just think about our goal, we need to expect to achieve it. Most people place limits on themselves by thinking, "I'd like to however, I could never afford to live in a Million Dollar home". When we think these negative thoughts we program our subconscious mind to think all these statements are true and so it will continue to help keep us poor as long as we think this way. 
 
In a wealthy country those that are poor are basically that way because they either lack knowledge or they simply lack a poor work ethic. However, before you condemn me for picking on poor people, let me say my goal is to help those people who are poor now to become more prosperous. That is the goal of my business and this article. I can't help people with a poor work ethic but I can help educate people with knowledge so they can become more prosperous. 
 
Those of us who have an understanding have an obligation to accomplish much for which we are highly compensated. I believe it was Abraham Lincoln who said, "A poor person never became richer by making a rich man poorer."� The Bible speaks of having an obligation to never forsake the poor, and we certainly can't by being poor ourselves. We can't help the lazy but we can help bring understanding to those who would learn. 
 
So the key to attracting success is learning to control our thoughts. Without even realizing it we'll often gravitate toward thinking negative. For example: Why can't I lose weight, a better thought would be, I'm not committed to losing weight because if I were I would be good-looking fit. Instead of; I can't afford that, a better thought would be, I'm going to have that or I simply choose not to purchase it now as I choose something better. Instead of thinking; I would like to have that; say or think; I will have that. 
 
I cannot stress the importance of never using the words, want or wanting or need or needing. It is like programming your thinking and your mind you are in want or need. (Wealthy people never are in want and they are never in need.) Wouldn't it be better and more positive to think or say, I will or I am going to have it? However, saying positive things for the sake of saying positive things, without actions promoting confidence and inspiring beliefs, are of no value whatsoever. 
 
Mental programming of positive thinking attracts success. Of high importance is a learned value system of wisdom and principals, of love and caring for others, that should guide our thoughts like the Biblical 10 Commandments. Who can forget the many evil men, that were guided by their own self-interests, regardless of how they hurt others, they thought they were right. They were confident and certainly attracted worldly success, but without a love for fellow humanity they reigned extreme misery on mankind (men like Hitler, Stalin, Mao and many more). 
 
Thus I believe it is very important that what we do, we do with an attitude of love toward our fellow man. 
 
Think for a moment of all of the totally confident people you have known. In all of their actions were any of them unsuccessful? I doubt it. 
 
You can take this to the bank; if you want success to come to you, as if you were a magnet, then you must learn and use the principal of thought control.
